"There should be two principles for formulating RFID standards: first, as long as national security and major intellectual property rights are not involved, international standards, especially open standards, should be used as much as possible; second, do not excessively pursue the unification of standards. Unification is always relative. Complex systems should allow the coexistence of multiple standards, but there should be a convenient coordination and conversion mechanism."

According to Dirk Morgenroth, the RFID marketing manager of Philips semiconductor, the Philips ucode EPC Gen 2 chip can cover all basic instructions, with a set of single programmable 96 bit EPC primary programmable memory built in. Using the anti-collision algorithm, it can read up to 1600 tags per second under the current American specification. The backscatter data rate was increased from tens of bits per second to 650kbps, and the scanning range was extended to 30 feet. It uses the flexible deployment application field identification code (AFI), which supports not only the EPC Gen2 standard, but also the ISO C coding structure.
